Ficou conhecido por ser presidente da\u00a0Comiss\u00e3o Parlamentar de Inqu\u00e9rito\u00a0sobre\u00a0narcotr\u00e1fico, enquanto deputado federal, e por presidir a Comiss\u00e3o da Pedofilia, no\u00a0Senado Federal.
